Clear aligner therapy uses a series of clear plastic trays called aligners to gently reposition your teeth over time. Clear aligners are used to help treat a variety of common orthodontic issues including crowded teeth, crooked teeth, overbites, underbites, open bites or gaps between teeth.
At our Denver office, we offer ClearCorrect. ClearCorrect is recommended for teens and adults with mild to moderate teeth misalignment. Patients who present with more complex alignment issues may be candidates for other forms of orthodontic treatment.
The ClearCorrect clear aligner system can straighten your teeth without the metal brackets and wires of traditional metal braces. ClearCorrect uses a series of removable, custom-made aligners to correct your teeth’s position in four phases of treatment. Each phase involves a new set of aligners that you will wear for three weeks, or as recommended by our dentist.
For the best results, wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day. Take them out when eating, drinking, or brushing and flossing your teeth. Be sure to take your ClearCorrect aligners out during contact sports and other physical activities to enjoy a healthy lifestyle without damaging your aligners.
Treatment times vary depending on patient needs, but for most cases, you can expect to wear your aligners for one to two years.
First, schedule a consultation with our friendly dental team. We will perform an examination and help you find the treatment plan that’s right for you. Depending on your needs, you can choose from three convenient treatment plans: Unlimited, Limited 12, and Limited 6. Unlimited is recommended for patients in need of a significant degree of realignment and gives the patient as many aligners as necessary. Limited 12 gives patients twelve sets of aligners. Limited 6 gives patients six sets of aligners.
As with any orthodontic treatment, you will experience some discomfort as your teeth are guided into their correct positions. Some tenderness after you begin wearing your new aligners is normal and should pass in a few days. If you experience prolonged pain or other issues with your aligners, be sure to contact our office right away.
